At present, China
blow molding machine tool industry only has comparative advantage in scale, it still has obvious difference in structure, level, research and development, service capabilities and other aspects compared with powerful
machines tool manufacturers: the production capacity of low-end products is overmuch, the price wars, high-end products mainly rely on imports. Although the market share of domestic machine tool in 2009 rose to 70.1 percent, but the import of machine tools is still as high as 5.9 billion U.S. dollars, of which the metal cutting machine tool is 4.56 billion U.S. dollars and the metal forming machine tool is 1.34 billion U.S. dollars. Imports are almost high-end CNC machine tools (including the complete production line). It is obvious that as for the demand for high-end products, the demand and supply contradiction of domestic machine tool has existed for a long time, though now it has improved but still has not been changed from root.
The development of high-performance digital control systems and functional components is legs behind
construction machinery, and has become a bottleneck that restricts the development of CNC machine tool industry. The independent innovation capacity is not strong. The basis, key and common technology are not yet fully mastered, the establishment of open and community-based research and development system has still in the exploration stage. China
construction machinery tool industry has not fulfilled the transition from production manufacturing to service manufacturing. In particular, the engineering integration capacity, it provides complete production lines for core manufacturing field of automotive and other key industries, but it still in the beginning stage. The industrial concentration is not high. There are many but scattered enterprises, as many as 5944 enterprises in the whole industry;
machinery enterprises are large but not strong, small but not fine; supporting capacity is weak and the industrial division is not clear; the industrial chain system that adapt to rapid development of NC machine tool industry is still not complete. High-end talents are short, especially the leading person in high-end CNC machine tools, CNC systems and functional components research and development; also lack technicians and complex international management talent who have international vision. Currently, high-end talent shortage has become deep-seated reasons that restrict rapid and sustainable development of CNC machine tool industry.
